For over two decades I have been the Director of Spiritual Care for Friends of the Forgotten, a non-profit that serves the elderly living in long term care communities, and their caregivers. I am the author of two books, Numbered Wanderings, and Finding Life in the Last Season. As a trained spiritual director, my approach to soul care is unique to each individual on whose journey I have the joy to be a spiritual companion. My intention is to listen, with each individual, how God is at work, depending on what season of life they find themselves. It is a time, led by God, rooted in prayer, with a desire to grow in grace and sanctuary living.
"O God You are my God, earnestly I seek You... in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
I have seen You in Your sanctuary and beheld Your glory.
Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You."
Psalm 63:1-3
Sanctuary living is about finding that inner place where we connect most deeply with God. It's also about finding joy and purpose in the life that we have along the way. I like to say that I'm a contemplative on a restoration journey of self, and a
one room schoolhouse! This little school, built in 1875, is my sanctuary space - where I find rest and presence with God.
Are you interested in learning more about spiritual direction? I meet in person in Omaha, Nebraska and in the Galena, Illinois area. I am available for sessions on Zoom or by phone from anywhere in the United States. The initial session is offered at no charge- and is for both of us to ask questions to see if spiritual direction may be where God is leading you.
